Edit the source code, or find another program. Currently from what I have noticed this is only good for chatting over the LAN. Maybe they will allow chatting to an outside network in a future release.

if your computer is directly connected to the internet and the one that you want to talk with is also directly connected to the internet (no proxy), go to Settings then add the IP address of the computer/person you want to chat with in the Broadcast Setup for different segment.
